Icon7 Very cool

Any chance you can post scan of the 1655 'as illustrated'?

Curious what version (dial, hands, etc) is shown in '75

This is great.....
It's interesting to see in terms of British pounds most models have doubled in price roughly every 7.5 to 8 yrs.

Equally is the price similarity of models like Sub date, Sd and Daytona compared to todays disparity between the Daytona and the others..

$394.83 for a SS Submariner.

Here's $400 and keep the change.....based off the average for the year of 2.5834, if I am not mistaken.

Not bad considering my 1st Rolex was a brand-new SS-Sub 1680 in July/78 at $600.+tax, from a USA-AD.

Imagine an AD display case.

I'll take the 1019, 1655, 6263, 6265 and the red 1680 and double red 1665.

£1090 less my 15% discount for these slow sellers - £927.

Better idea .... off to USA to be the tea boy at Bill Gates new small Company.

Possibly it was a mistake.

I believe they were in production from 1959 through 1978,

Nothing beats a desirable Rolex watch

Since several years ago, I had been advising close-friends to buy and wear or buy to keep Rolex watches, in view of their second to none quality of craftsmanship and beauty. Hardly anyone listened to this advice.

Of course, I myself did not anticipate one day the price of vintage Rolex watches will be sky-high like today. As for stocks and shares, as well as gold, their prices see-saw, over the years. However, as for the better and desirable vintage Rolex watches, their price has been on the rise steadily all the time, come rain come shine.

Wow, the gap must have really started closing fast in the 70s. My recollection is the rate was about 4 SFR to 1 USD in the late 60s. More recently it was about 1 to 1.
