Yep, that was my second Rolex, and I sold it within a matter of weeks. I'm all for tradition and everything, but I just had to have the date.

When you wake up in the morning, repeat to yourself five times the day's date, "Wednesday, December 30th" and you should be ok! Whereas I have no problem remembering what day/date it is, I sometimes can't remember what year it is! But there is no Rolex for that! Great watch, by the way.

Well, I like the functionality *and* appearance of the date and the cyclops. It's a Rolex hall-mark to me.

My only regret is that I sold the watch..... I'm not crazy about a date on my watch.

Regret
I just purchased a ND sub from our friend DAVIDSW...but have yet to receive it...I don't think I will have any regret, I regret not making this my first Rolex purchase, but I am very happy with my GMTIIc, and my DJII...
I am anxious in receiving it and using it as what people on the forum call "tool watch"... I recently purchased a Pan104 and strayed to the otherside ...this is a watch so far I am regretting...Have not even worn it...BNIB..as they say...liked it in the showroom and fell hard for the sales pitch...Maybe if I wear it it will grow on me...hopefully not like fungus.... |

Clean lines and a very classic look. Don't fret, and enjoy your watch! The more I see them, the more I like it.

Regret it !!
The Sub is what started it all......... and it is arguably the most beloved and collected watch in the world, along with it's lesser sister, the Sub Date...

Great shot, Larry! Early on, I passed it over for the Sub Date. Now, well, maybe there is a tinge of regret in that...

I have had my 14060M almost a couple of years and love it.
I do not yet have a problem with remembering what date it is, maybe later. |

It is unique, clean and refreshing for a diver watch like this. For one thing, most of the other watch manufacturers - if not all - have the date function on the watch. There is no option. Secondly, the 40mm size, I think, is ideal.
Thirdly, the screw holes on the lugs. Even if I was partial to having dates on my watches, I would get this one over the date version, just because it is such a unique classic. I saw one at my AD yesterday, for the first time. I had gone to look at an Explorer, which I will be getting. However, when I saw the Sub ND, I almost changed my mind and got that. In the pictures I saw, the markers were smaller than on the date version, and I didn't know if I would like it or not. However, seeing it in the flesh, I had no doubt in my mind that this is a very desirable watch. I don't even know if they still make it. If it were me, I would not have any second thoughts or regrets. You can always get a diver with the date later if you really want. I could rave about this watch all night. It is my favourite watch of this type with movable bezel - bar none. If it weren't for the fact that I am itching to get an Explorer, I would be getting the Sub that I saw yesterday. Cheers, Carl

I go through the ritual of checking TRF every morning before I go to work. I make it a point to etch the date into my mind every morning, and I have no trouble remembering the date. Now, my 14060M and my White Milgauss are the two watches that I wear the most...........and neither one has the date
I love my 14060M. It is a must for any Rolex collection IMHO.

Great watch - I used to not like it b/c of the ND, but it really grows on you.

A Rolex without the date and a cyclops seems lacking.
