Endlinks

Has anyone ever heard of 385 endlinks?

I called the phone number. He told me that the 285 endlinks were from the late 60's and the 385 endlinks were from the early 70's.

It is maybe right , I did some googling on it , and even on Stefano Mazzariol 's website that seems to be right . Earlier sea dwellers came with end link 285 and later with 385 . www.vintagewatches.it . They do an english version / translation of this site , sure you'll enjoy it if you do not know it already .

That bracelet is marked 3/72. Mine is marked 1/72 and has 285 endlinks. Its possible that its correct and that both types of endlinks were being used in the same time period.

Rolex changed the links in February 1972.

It looks good; the clear pictures give it away. Notice he even has a Rolex dial in the back ground.

This is a new one to me, I thought the end pieces on the band for a 1665 and 1680 were 593 now its worth waiting for Stan the band man to have a look :-) just in case these 385's were a rare run

The aftermarket end pieces are (from what I learned):
mis-stamped
the numbers are not placed correctly on the end pieces
the stamps are to large
The end pieces are rough looking

My 2 cents.

I never bid. I have never bought anything off ebay. Besides, I already have one.

Before I was on this forum, I thought of ebay as a safe place to buy used merchandise. Perhaps it is, if your not buying Rolex watches. They are a magnet for con men and thieves.

I have bought over twenty thousand dollars worth of stuff from eBay including high end Cannon cameras, lenses and a few computers. The only time I was totally ripped off was buying a Rolex DD for five hundred dollars; that was a long time ago.

Any item can be a scam but high end watches and jewelry are notorious for being sold by scammers.
