What is the origin of your handle (usernames) ?
I know some are simply names, but lets hear some stories on the background info of your usernames!

Prince is a classic Rolex watch from the 20's/30's/40's that I really admire. I hope to have one someday, but I know the price will be dear.
When I first joined this forum, the folks here thought I might mean the singer "Prince" (you know - the artist formerly known as Prince - and now again), so I added "The Purple One" to my signature just for fun.

JJ are my initials. My real name is Jehangir (same as in Jehangir Khan, former Squash World champion from Pakistan). My dad's name was Jal and we always used the father's name in the middle back in India. So my initials - J.J. - stuck....and my friends just preferred to call me "JJ"!!
BTW, Irani is my real surname. JJ

Double meaning. I'm an admin for an automotive Q&A website. Who can repair it? Al can. Also, Al from Canada = Alcan

Hey guys,
No my handle does not mean that I am a black porn actor! I signed up on Ebay years ago and I needed a handle that I could use on Ebay and also as a Yahoo email and as I am an avid comic collector I choose my Fave character in comics "Blackbolt King of the Inhumans" Blackbolt itself was taken so I had to improvise. That is who the pic in my avatar is of as well in case anybody was curious... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Bolt

Well, because when it comes to watches, I am truly Incurable. No, I don't have a terminal medical condition (well, maybe a mental one ) but despite buying the 'mutha of all watches' (ie Rolex), then another, and another, I still continue to lust them. The only thing that changed was my definition of a 'cheap' watch. Now anything under $500 is a 'cheap' watch. For most I interact with, this perspective brings mixed reactions. Trying to explain my fascination (or more appropriately, appreciation) to them just serves to raise eyebrows. That's why I enjoy posting my thoughts here. No need to rationalize my 'illness' (or is there?)...

The boy's name Charles \ch(ar)-les\ is pronounced charlz. It is of Old German origin, and its meaning is "free man". From "karl", similar to Old English "churl", meaning "man, serf". The first Holy Roman Emperor (seventh to eighth century) Charlemagne (Latin Carolus Magnus, meaning "Charles the Great") was a powerful Germanic leader who created a more ordered society out of the chaos that followed the fall of Rome. He united France and much of central Europe. His widespread fame gave rise to many forms of his name. Charles is the French variant of Carolus or Karolus, adopted by the English especially since the 17th-century reigns of kings Charles I and II. Charles and its variant forms have been favoured by the royalty of several countries, including the present Prince of Wales. Charlie and Charly are occasionally used for girls. See also Arlo. Naturalist Charles Darwin; French president Charles de Gaulle; author Charles Dickens; actor Charlie Chaplin; basketball player Charles Barkley.
Charles has 27 variant forms: Carel, Carl, Carlo, Carlos, Carrol, Carroll, Cary, Caryl, Chad, Charleson, Charley, Charlie, Charlot, Charls, Charlton, Charly, Chas, Chaz, Chick, Chip, Chuck, Karel, Karl, Karol, Karolek, Karolik and Karoly. For more information, see also related names Cale and Curley. A baby name that sounds like Charles is Charleston. Charles is a very popular male first name and a very popular surname (source: 1990 U.S. Census). Displayed below is the baby name popularity trend for the boy's name Charles. My handle comes from the nick name I got when I joined the SWAT team. I was always the one who gives 110%, with little regard for my own well being, always in High-gear. Even if I am going down the wrong road, I'm going 90 miles an hour. I went to Sniper school with a fractured tibia, a torn tendon, and two torn ligaments in my ankle. I refused to tell anyone because I didn't want to lose my slot. I was just reinstated to full duty after reconstructive surgery in November.
My signature line translates to "Venerate (Honor) Fallen Comrades" 918 for one of my team members killed in the line of duty on a hostage rescue in 2005 |

We touched on this a while ago, so I'm going to be lazy and cut-and-paste what I posted there:

i wasn't the one to come up with it, it was my bro . he was playing dungeon seige , a pc game and he needed a name for a female character so he came up with "oldbreadstinks" and another one about "cookies" that was like 5 years back
that was when i started participating in forums and needed a nick no one else would use , i tried it at yahoo plus a few other places and thought "hey! no one else use crappy names like these! everyone else is just another "motherf**ker" or "handsome dude" or "god of death" " people who saw it thought its funny, i like using it so thats how i ended up 5 years later registering here with "obs" |

Leopardprey, User name on several forums I use to pass the boredom away while overseas and to get info on watches, guns, knives, vehicles, and professional forums. (jeepforums.com,socnetcentral.com,marlinowners.com ,timezone.com,watchuseek.com,etc..)
Ran into a wild Leapord once while hunting in SouthAfrica and also had a very rare encounter seeing a snow leopard up close (and scarring the hell out of me) on a mountain trail in Eastern Nepal. And then later in Cambodia, did a raid on a house with my Cambodian Military Police and rescued a baby Leopard that had been captured and was going to be sold/smuggled. Baby Leopard was then turned over to the Zoo in Phnom Penh to be raised. ( I was working as a Project Manager for a Wildlife Conservation Law Enforement Project in NW Cambodia, that was funded by the actress Angelina Jolie) |
