Buying new Rolex for Wife

I am looking to buy my wife a new Rolex for her 25th anniversary. She likes the Yachtmaster and the jeweler has it for $7100. Is there a reliable place, either on line, or in Texas, that I can get a better price, and be assured I am getting a genuine, new, Rolex? Since this is the first, I must be very careful and would pay a little extra for the piece of mind, that the watch is new, and genuine.
Thanks.

Hi BT....welcome to TRF!

The Lady YM is a great choice, my friend. Are you planning on the TT version or the SS/Pt. one?

My wife has this one in TT (steel/gold) with the grey dial!! Just a suggestion, but you should let your wife check it out. Make sure you buy from an Authorised Rolex Dealer only if you're not sure of other sources. Play it safe and you will have complete peace of mind!!

Good luck - JJ

If you are near Houston or San Antonio, go to Tourneau. They are opening a store in Dallas soon too.

Hook 'em Horns, Gig 'em Aggies, or Roll Tide???

Stay away from the big T.
I have had and have heard nothing but HORROR stories from them.

Go to a local AD and buy it.
If this is the first rolex buy it from the AD.
Remember, they have an exchange policy. Out of state/region and online DO NOT. :)
Be on the safe side for this one.

I agree - Tourneau is the absolutely worst AD I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. Their sales people are a bunch of goofs (from what I have read - Mayers also seems to fit into that category as well). That being said - it is the best place to go in and try stuff on, shop like crazy and then buy somewhere else. I plan on stealing an hour or two from them when I hit the monster Tourneau store at the Caesar's shops in Las Vegas (I'll be there in 2 weeks). To Victoria at Tourneau >>>>>>

I am going to bug-eyed staring at the jumbo screens at Caesar's! Additionally, I am going to the Big West championship in Anaheim starting this Wed. The winner punches a ticket to the big dance (rooting for UC Irvine by the way).

SNAP!
I'll be spending my next watch at the sports book in NY/NY. I love tourney time in LV. Maybe I'll win some dough and scoot down to an AD for the 16610I've been OGLING.
Also, I'll be doing an insane amount of drinking and other gambling. Oh, Vegas. The grown-ups Disneyland.

As the resale on lady Rolex isn't as good as the men's models, you might consider using this bit of info as a bargaining chip.

Also as much as I dislike Tourneau... I've heard on this forum that they allow you to return the watch and get 100% of your money towards any upgrade.

Which might not be such a bad idea.

Tag,

I bought my SS DJ from the big T, and they were great. Different experiences for different people I guess. Also, I failed to mention in my first post that Ben Bridge is another good Rolex dealer there.

Thanks.

You can call any AD dealer, and buy it over the telephone, get a discount, plus most dealers will not charge tax either.
