Brushed bracelet on GMTIIC???

Personally, I think after-market brushing of the GMTIIC bracelet is insane, looks awful and seems such a shame!!

What do you think???

Keep the PCL's, they look fantastic!

The brushed ones always look badly finished, especially around the clasp.

I wish rolex never used PCL's on the GMTIIC, makes it feel less like a tool watch and more flashy which I do not like. I plan on having it professionally brushed once I can find a reputable person to do it in my area. Why Rolex, why did you do this!!! Lol

One of the reasons I would get the Sub C over the GMT-IIc is because the GMT has PCLs. There are a lot on here who don't mind the scratches but personally the scratches on my Turn-O-Graph which has PCLs drives me nuts. Also why put PCLs on a tool watch?

I do not like the PCL's, but I would never touch the original finish of a Rolex.

On certain watches, PCLs are a must, like the SS/Pt. YM where the PCLs match up with the polished case.

On a tool watch, an overall brushed look is better.

I can't say that I hate the PCLs, but if it were possible to buy a SS GMT IIC with the BCL bracelet + GlideLock clasp from a SS Sub-C, that would be a combo I'd definitely pick up. Not so much because of the BCL, but more because of the GlideLock.

It is what it is, so just leave it alone. Either you like the PCLs (or can at least live with them), or you don't. I personally would prefer a brushed bracelt from the factory.

I wore my new GMTiiC one week with the PCLs. I knew right away the PCLs would get brushed. I am totally convinced that Rolex made a poor decision going with the PCL on the GMTiiC. This poll is currently proving just that. I believe twice as many GMTiiC would be sold if the bracelet was brushed. Some Rolex customers are just not willing to have the PCL brushed for all the reasons discussed in many other threads. My belief is that it is mainly a marketing scheme so folks want to purchase a GMTiiC and a Sub. I currently do not have a desire to own a Sub. My brushed GMTiiC has the best of both world.

The GMT is a sport watch that always had the brushed bracelet until release of the GMT IIc. A brushed bracelet is more fitting to the character of the watch. That said, I probably wouldn't brush the PCL as I like stock. My hat is off to anyone who does.

I can see both sides of the stories. If I had a choice, I would have the GMTIIC on a PCL bracelet and a spare brushed bracelet for more "hardcore" events.
Last time I took the SS GMTIIC with me travelling, it came back with loads of scratches on the PCL bits, especially the clasp.
I have see a few people brushed their PCL bracelets - great if they are going to keep it for a long time. I really can't see it gets flipped easily. From memory, there is currently one in the FS section....

After 6mths of ownership I'm about to pull the trigger on getting th PCL's brushed - IMHO it will look immeasurably better, I have checked with Rolex that they will service it afterwards (they will) and as it was a wedding present I will never be selling it (hopefully) so resale value means nothing to me.

As for people being prescious regarding altering the original Rolex finish - it honestly makes me laugh. If I bought a car I may have it chipped or resprayed, if I bought a yacht I'd add extra equipment, and although Rolex are incredible timepieces they are hardly handmade in tiny numbers.

I think the brushed look is SO much better and cannot wait to get mine done and turn it into what I believe will be the finest tool watch in the current range.

It's not that I love it but that's not what Rolex intended for this watch. Keep it Rolex. And please don't power coat your dam watch..
