Ever seen a Moon like this?

Care to guess what this 'horological marvel' might be?

sure thing!

believe it or not, I've been looking for this watch for about 4 months and couldn't find it until last week. I'm a happy man - as you see, it doesn't take much

Ah, most likely Ball next time!

Under the glow of the moon, I'm keeping my eyes open for a Hydrocarbon Magnate GMT COSC in blue with the red 24 hrs hand .

I was torn between the two, but this watch is very Milgauss-like in feel and size. Both 40mm, both have robust bracelets, similar lugs, thick, anti-magnetic, etc. Since I have a GV already, in place of getting a white Millie (which I really really want!), I decided to go with this.

Very nice, I like how you squared it out to focus on the center.

Nice Greg! I just bought a Ball World Timer over the weekend- it was delivered today, but no one was home! So it's sitting at the local post office waiting to be picked up tomorrow a.m.!!

Greg:

I'm a mining engineer and one side of my family was almost entirely career railroad. I have followed Ball for several years as they are the standard for the railroad profession. Great picks and great pick-up....can't wait to see how fast it goes (if) when it hits the "For Sale Forum"

Ball Hamilton pocket watches, and the Ball of today at two VERY different things. Really nothing more than the name in common.

Oooh... I don't this one is going up for sale my friend - took me too long to find it.

Didn't know you were a mining engineer - that's a tough gig! As far as Ball goes - absolutely, they run hand-in-hand with the Railroad industry - heck, even their logo is two R's.

Around $1500. Not sure of retail, as it has been discontinued for a couple years. I think around $1800 is the last known list. Odd thing about Ball is that they aren't expensive watches at all, but discounts on them are scarce, and so is the availability of some models. And once they're gone - they're GONE. I definitely like the small annual production aspect of this brand - not to mention they're bulletproof.
