Favorite Cable Series?

Which show is your favorite on cable, HBO, Showtime, etc . . .

I really enjoyed Oz (years ago) on HBO.

And I also enjoyed The Tudors on Showtime.

Boardwalk Empire was excellent, best thing I watched on TV in a long time.
Steve Buscemi did a great job & deserved his awards.

Every time one of his underlings delivers bad news and Nucky goes "What the... F$%^!" I have to smile. I think Martin Scorsese also deserves some sort of lifetime achievement award for advancing the social acceptability of the full gore head-shot and perfecting it to an art-form.

Haven't seen it, but I'm sure you're right, Bob, since Buscemi is almost always great!

I like all of these. I would also add the following:

Spartacus
Big Love
Episodes (hilarious new series)
Californication

I watch Big Love, too. But for me at least, this season hasn't been as interesting as the others.

Spartacus is #1 on my list of must see. Heard great things.

Great picks here... let me add to it. Breaking Bad. What's funny is a buddy of mine in the DEA talks about the realism of the cooking lol... and of course we've talked about weeds.

I'll have to check out Boardwalk Empires...i'm a Steve Buscemi fan.

Breaking Bad is unbelievable. I could not believe the last couple episodes of last season. Bryan Cranston deserved his two Emmy's for his role as Walt. I cannot wait for the next season which is supposed to premiere in a couple of months.

Even though I lean the other way, The West Wing is the only TV show that I have liked in the past 10 years or so.
(And Top Gear of course but that's a different genre than what the OP specified)
