Are you a BEZEL "Fiddler"?

Hi guys,

I've done this one before a very long time ago on another forum, but I think it's worth a repeat here with so many newbies around.

So....the question is pretty simple: Do you really use your bezel often, rarely or would you just prefer a nice fixed one (like the Explorers, Daytonas, DDs or even any one of the DJs)?

Vote with comments please!!

Personally, I NEVER use the bezel....just make sure it's perfectly lined up with the triangle at '12'.

Cheers all - JJ

JJ,
Use it? Sure do. Simple timing device or other timezones.

I use mine all the time. Time in Dushanbe, Tampa, Los Angeles, and how much time I need to keep my pizza in the oven. Hmmm, it is a ten minute pizza. I need the Pizzamaster II.

Dear JJ,

to be more sincere in my reply: I use it very rarely. I HATE greasy fingermarks on the bezel, and sometimes it is a bit hard to get the Triangles flush again (there is a dead zone between the 120 clicks that you have to use on some bezels to get it right). Of course you can just polish the watch bezel after having used it, but there is always a risk that you make a hairline scratch in the watch by polishing it all the time.

Me too!

But it CAN be fixed, even though I would better like to microadjust it myself than going to THIS lenght:

http://www.r-l-x.de/wbb2/thread.php?threadid=35

Unfortunately, it is in German (I have a master's degree in that language, so it is no problem for me).

But the pics should tell it all. Apparantly, one can "fine adjust" the 120 clicking mechanism by doing this. And YES, I do know that the GMT is a non clicking bezel, but I know it can be adjusted. Under all circumstances, I would let my AD to it for me.

And I only have one watch with a rotating bezel (internal) and I use it to time things on occasion, but generally it's in the normal position.

Interesting! I only use my bezel ONCE A MONTH: When my girl friend it just about to get her period! If she gets one of her "aggressive ways", I go off into another room, set my bezel, and after about 15½ minutes, I know that all is clear again!

BTW: It's called the "PMS Bezel".

Fiddle with my bezel Getting kind of personal aren't ya? Hardly ever... Besides, that's why I've got a chrono. I only use the bezel for time zone changes, ie traveling. Then again, I've got a GMT.
