Do you guys and gals think there is a certain age u have to reach before wearing gold rolexes is acceptable? Would it look weird on someone who is in their twenties?

Although I was strangely drawn to a WG DD recently, I have now recovered my equilibrium. Gold Rolexes are naff at any age (IMO).

I had a yg DD at 27 years old... I don't think its an age thing... its just a matter of personal preference...

I wear a 18k gold ring all the time.

Who cares what other people think anyway! If I wanna wear something gold I will, who cares if I'm in my 20's! I ain't no fashion show, that's for certain.

It's personal opinion, but personally I won't wear a gold Rolex at age 22. Maybe TT.

YG, yes. 50+ (unless you want to act like a baller). The only exception to the rule (and there is no Rolex that fits the bill) is YG accents or a "delicate" gold case.

WG is fine, but looks like steel.

Personally, I'm not a huge Yg fan, although I looove TT and like WG as well. I think it might be a little over the top in your 20's, but if you like it, that's really what matters.

I think skin complexion is a big factor. Personally I have rose gold and white gold watches that look great on me, but yellow gold looks out of place....

I've seen a couple of TT subs on guys in their early 20s and it immediately caught my attention because I don't expect to see nice watches of that caliber on guys that age, but not because the gold looked wrong in any way. It's no different than when I see a 20 year old driving a $40,000 BMW. It's not expected, and it draws attention IMHO, but not in a bad way.

For females, the jewelry you wear when you are young reflects your family, the jewelry you wear when you are older reflects your spouse or your profession. Sorry about that.

Either way, wear what you like but be prepared for the consequences.

I can't say I really disagree with any of this. Being one that fits into the "middle aged" catagory, I personally prefer wg over yellow, with platinum being my favorite. A lot has to do with skin tone, color of clothes you typically wear, etc., but having said that I have seen many wearing yg and looking good. I would say that IMO a 20 something with a yg watch, especially one with a yg bracelet looks a little out of place. A ss sub on the other hand, sweet.

Speaking from experience, when you wear a yellow gold Rolex in your 20's, people will assume one of the following:

1. You're a drug dealer or partake in another lucrative yet unsavory activity
2. It's a fake
3. You're a member of the Lucky Sperm Club

None of these is a particularly good thing. It doesn't matter whether you saved up for it yourself or just have a really high paying job, most people who see it will have a negative reaction.

If you bought it yourself, the richkid/undeserved wealth part wouldn't be true. I'd love a fullgold GMT. The consequence would be that you'd piss everyone off. Young and old. The current economic climate might be worth taking note of here. Personally I just do whatever I want, and if my perceived success pisses anyone off then "sorry" :D
