Question for Cigar Smokers

Can you guys pick up on and taste the flavors of cigars that many reviewers suggest? In many reviews of cigars people say they taste leather, coffee and other flavors. I've been a cigar smoker for many years and rarely have I tasted these flavors. As a cigar smoker do you find these flavors in your cigars? On a side note, how do you smoke? Do you simply draw on the cigar and let the smoke out or do you sort of sample it like you would a drink?

I can certainly "taste the difference" and pick up different flavours.

I smoke very rarely, so maybe my tastebuds are more sensitive than those of someone who smokes a lot...?

I tend just to hold the smoke in my mouth but will occasionally inhale. I save French inhale for when I'm trying to look REALLY cool!

My pallet only allows for slight flavor awareness. Although subtly in flavors is what a fine cigar is all about. I'm getting better at identifying what I like and what I don't.
While enjoying a stick I'll occasionally draw the smoke out thru my nose to get a better sense of the flavors. Other times not.

Sometimes but not always do I taste the flavors that people say certain cigars have. But I sure do enjoy them!!!

Try blowing it out a little from your nose, I find that opens up a lot of flavors I can't get with my palate. Be careful though, first time I tried this with a ligero cigar (Cain F) I about cried right there.

I suppose I am one of the "lucky" ones in that I can tell a vast difference in cigars. Perhaps this is why I crave so many diverse brands and seem to never have a favorite.
