......in diameter is the anniv gmt II than the sub?????

Right
BUT: The anni GMT does have a bigger "LOOK" to it due to a more "square" case style and due to the bigger lugs and the hefti ceramic bezel.

The GMT II Anniversary Bezel is 40mm in diameter but when you look at the bezel and case there is a minimum diameter of 40mm at only four very small points on the outside of the bezel. These points are at 2, 4, 8 & 10. All other measurements around the case perimeter are larger than 40mm and this does make this watch look bigger than some of the other Rolex 40mm watches.
