Question Cleaning and Maintaining your Rolex

Hello I recently aquired a beautifull TT Blue Sub (I Love it) and I was wondering what are the proper ways to clean your rolex so its nice and shiny witout scratching or damaging it

Preferably a MILD liquid handwashing soap, of course without any balsam.

Just ordinary soap, running water and a SOFT toothbrush!! Congrats on the best TT Rolex out there!!

I take it from your response, that I will find the answers in there. I just tried to clean it with Johnson's baby soap and a soft tooth brush. I think I see some fine scratches on the links that I haven't noticed before. I hope I did not do any permanent damage... I'll read the book. If you have any other tips, I'd appreciate hearing them. I want this this thing to sparkle like it is wet.

Welcome...after reading everything you will still not find a perfect answer. But a baby's toothbrush is soft and lets you get into the bracelet and end link cracks and crevices with suds. The simple foam pump clear liquid hand soap works well - just don't use the creamy lotioned soaps since the waxes and oils can build up on the surface.

So I have to watch my TT Blue Sub with warm water and shampoo?? or hand washing soap with my hands or a thootbrush? every 2 weeks? so far i have just been cleaning it with a cloth aaaa I think i am being too paranoid I am very afraid of sratching or damaging it

Just wash it once a week in lukewarm water, using a mild hand soap, but be sure to use a hand soap with NO BALSAM in it.

The balsam can be tricky to wash off, so just a basic mild soap.

You can use a worn / soft tootbrush, too, but if you wash it once a week, probably you don't need the toothbrush.

I am a perfectionist, so after washing it, I take a piece of kitchen tissue, fold it, and insert the folded edge into the space between the winding crown and the crown guards (Submariner Date) to let the tissue absorb any moisture that may be captured there.....just to be sure!

After that, I take the same kitchen tissue and gently let it run around the edge of the crystal to take any moisture captured in the space between the diving bezel and the crystal (in fact, there can be quite a lot moisture in that space after washing it, and when the watch is worn, that moisture would run over the crystal, dry out on the crystal and leave calcium spots on the crystal from the tap water).

Congrats! I lather up my hands, and gently with my fingers clean the entire watch. Pat dry with a soft cloth.

Omar,

I do hope all your questions are serious, because some of them are actually bordering on the ridiculous!!

Just wipe the watch with a towel and then use a lint-free cloth to wipe it clean.

I have a 16 years old DD which was purchased in 1991. It has a presidential bracelet that is not as strong as a SS one. But I wear it a bit loose to prevent it from stretching and wash it daily using soap and water. Although I wear it almost everyday, the condition of the 18k bracelet and case are still as good as new...Even RSC Jakarta admired it when I brought it there for service last month...
