Although not a fan of any precious metal watches just cannot see any point in putting a strap on a gold bracelet watch.Unless original bracelet is beyond repair and too expensive to replace.

I don't know some of the gold watches look pretty good on a leather strap. Some of the older gold DJ's and DDs work pretty good on a leather strap. Not sure I would do it with a GMTIIC after paying all that money for the Gold Bracelet though.

I like the look. I think it dresses the watch up. Look at all the Daytonas on straps. IMO very sharp looking. Obviously a metal bracelet is more robust of course but for light duty and dressing up the strap looks great.

I haven't seen it.

For me, I would never think of putting a strap on my 18k GMTC. The bracelet is just too pretty.

Come on guys, live a little!!! :-) A nice brown leather strap looks great with yellow gold. I highly suspect it might not work on the 18K GMT but I sure would love to see some examples. If nothing else, it would dress down the watch as the whole 18K package makes it rather eye-catching.

Personally- I love the look of a bund on my 1680/8 Sub. It dresses it down and makes it sportier IMHO. Understand it is a vintage piece but it looks uber cool IMHO!! Not sure how it would look on a new GMT but would love to see.

Ken's 1680 on a Bund is striking!
A new GMT would be amazing IMO.

I prefer bracelets for myself, but I think all the Rolex watches that I've seen on leather bands look great.
