stolen 6263 PN in Ibiza
two days ago a 6263 with PN white dial ( case number 3.031.279 ) has been stolen from the wrist of a well known UK collector and good friend of mine.
I have already done this thread on italian forums. ( this info has been also put by the owner on VRF ). |

That is too bad, I hope it is somehow recovered and returned back to your friend.

First and foremost glad to hear he came to no harm. It's a shame there are people out there who have no moral compass. On a public service note I'd like to ask if you or your friend can explain what was happening at the time. You mentioned above it happened by sleight of hand. Was he completely unaware until some time later? Was he bumped into? Does he tend to wear his watch on the loose side or the tight side. Anything that can raise awareness to avoid this would be helpful. I'd hate to have to walk around with my hands in my pockets at all times.

I'm sorry this happened to your friend. I sincerely hope the watch is recovered.
To have this happen during a holiday is doubly upsetting. I'm glad nothing happened to him physically. |

Awful news Marcello- I heard about it first thing this morning. What a great guy and an amazing watch. I hope somehow he is caught as this is a small circle and that is quite a rare watch!

You never know the minute, so you have to be extra vigilante, i have worn a Rolex watch of one sort or another for over 30 years, and travelled to every continent and never felt threatened in any place, but.... the world has changed beyond recognition in those years, so perhaps people should think about taking a cheap watch with them on holiday, or better still buy one from the " Lucky Lucky " men on the beach. You will then be left in peace for the rest of your holiday. But on a serious note, i truly hope that this watch is recovered

It is so disgusting how these people can live on this earth like that. I say increase the punishment and it may lower the crimes. I'm so sorry for Roger. That was an amazing piece!!

Have you spoken to BOTH the Policia Nacional and the Guardia Civil? If Policia Local attended, there will be little or no follow up to the case (there are 3 police forces in Spain), although local police are supposed to help, they are employed by their town, so they do not really have any interest in following up a crime that that may carry on outside their jurisdiction.

That's not good news. Probably the thief would not have known the value of that watch he stole. So hopefully, instead of keeping it for his wrist, he takes it to a decent place to offload so the watch can be traced by a alert shop/collector and returned to it's rightful owner. As for the cops, I doubt they would take this seriously and would be lost in police records, at best they would advice to contact the insurance company like everywhere else in the world I guess. Does Rolex Spain keep a record of stolen watches? Maybe a good idea to put it on register if so.
