Non-AD watches and getting an insurance appraisal
If I bought a watch from a TRF trusted seller instead of an AD, what's the best process to get an evaulation/appraisal in order to get insurance coverage? Will an AD appraise a watch without asking for a sales receipt or warranty card? Should I even care about going to an AD?
Since the watch was BNIB, is there any reason for the appraisal to not be full retail price? And, lastly, what do shops typically charge for an evaluation? Thanks!

Any AD will appraise the watch for a fee... Usually $50-100 and then you will have no problem insuring the watch

If it's a new watch, will they appraise for MSRP?

Even if it was a used watch you bought from a pawn shop and it was all banged up, the value would be at MSRP from any certified appraiser.
I give an appraisal on new watches when requested by the buyer as long as it was BNIB. |

The trusted seller contacted me and said he can provide appraisals to his clients.

Yes, new or not...it should be appraised at current MSRP - as this is the true replacement cost. You may get them to include tax in there too if you're sneaky ;)
