Thanksgiving - be safe

I managed to leave work early for our Canadian Thanksgiving and all I was thinking about were the things I wanted to accomplish this weekend, including hosting Thanksgiving dinner. We're currently experiencing a reprieve from Fall, with forecasts of sun and 28-30C weather all weekend.

I came across a traffic jam on my way home that wasn't so surprising as these are just a fact of life here in the city. Usually it just traffic volume (long weekend) or someone pulled to the side for a flat tire, mechanical issues. Instead there was a horrendous accident that looked like it involved about 12+ cars.

Without going into detail, I don't think the person who the life flight was meant for made it. I feel terrible for those involved or witnessed the accident and the family of the male who probably lost his life. Something as unexpected and tragic as this reminds me of how precious life is and how anything can happen at anytime.

This Thanksgiving I've been reminded just what I've to be thankful for. Hope this helps to remind everyone that we're all very lucky for what we have, to give thanks and to remember that when times are tough, there is always someone else that is worse off.

Hug a friend, spouse, child or pet and try to appreciate what you have in the here and now

I hope you Thanksgiving gets better.

I don't think we will see any 28-30C here.

Canadian statistics have shown, that the highest # of auto accidents causing death occur over our Thanksgiving weekend.

Drive safely, play safely. be safe.
