Ceramic Daytonas-Who Has One?
Hi all, I'm becoming slightly obsessed with the new Ceramic Daytonas. This is a definite departure from my vintage bent, but then again I think love for the Daytona trumps all!
Who on TRF owns one of these already? Chocolate or Ivory dial? Pics please!! |

It is probably going to be a pretty small crowd. The price tag seems to be insanely high for this particular watch considering it is on a leather band.

I looked at it on rolex.com rose gold with black bzl. I myself dont like it. I would rather buy a solid gold used with zenith movnt and a used Ferrari 328 to go with it and maybe have a few grand left to title it. The Black bezel looks like an Invicta Looks like Rolex is now trying to make an expensive Invicta Almost the same as when BMW copied Mazda's Miata an exclusive brand going Pop culture The Deep Sea 42mm Explorer all look like The guys that used to copy Rolex models. Also I have to say being a Rolex site I see way too many guys on this Rolex forum that talk about G shock Casio. I have no respect for a G shock Casio. The last Casio I owned was in 1986. Maybe these guys are onto something maybe Casio will be come the new Rolex

There's one at the Lux Bond and Green at Mohegan Sun. The chocolate dial is beautiful.

The chocolate dial is a favorite of mine. Much like others, it looks mediocre in photos but stunning in person. Will wait a while though for the price hype to come down.

Still haven't seen one in person, hope to fairly soon. I think the chocolate looks pretty interesting.

Tried one on at Tourneau in Long Island. It was the white face with the normal SS style dial. Didn't think it was worth it. That Chocolate dial on the hand, that is a real a looker.

I do not own one. I tried one yesterday and I think it is too small for my taste. In fact as well as any Daytona.

I have placed an order on one with the chocolate face and my AD has advised me that he will be receiving it either the end of November or Mid-December. I can't wait. I have seen the white faced one and it's a beautiful piece, just not up my alley the face almost looks the same as the SS White Daytona. I think the chocolate face is something special and I can't wait to add it to my collection.
I will post pics once I get it. |
