Public Service Announcement - Check Your Bracelet Screws

Public Service Announcement - Check Your Bracelet Screws

I was just sitting at my desk when I noticed one of my oyster bracelet screws was starting to come out on my 2-month old Rose and SS Datejust. The screw was loose on the comfort extenstion link. The screw took 2-full turns to tighten! Crisis averted. I just thought it would be a good reminder for everyone to look at their bracelets before something horrible happened.

May be your AD didn't tighten them enough?

Glad for you, you found the issue before it fell of your wrist!

Exact same thing happened with my Sub-C about two weeks from new. Took it to the Rolex boutique in Chicago and they fixed it and it's been fine since.

That particular screw (the one inside the clasp) is a bear to get out if its backed it's way into the clasp too deeply. Glad you found it early! I recommend you take it out completely and add loctite 222 (very tiny amount) to inside link threads and retighten to prevent it from reoccurring.

I had a TT GMTIIc fall off my wrist and onto the bedroom floor.

Needless to say, I'm a thread-lock convert these days
