12 days with a Daytona
When I decided to splurge on the Daytona it was to be my "dress watch" (not being a gold/diamond guy) babied and only worn on special occasions. Well thats not going to happen.
Ironically, I'm a timing idiot, like timing anything and everything and after 30+ years of wearing nothing but my long time Speedmaster, rotated with a succession of Submariners, reading the sub dials on the Daytona is a pain in the arse. But I don't care, can't take it off, and I'm still timing everything. How long will the Daytona rule ? Edit : Cartier / hers. |

Possibly a long time. Nice collection. Congrats on the new addition. I find myself always putting on the Daytona for any "special" occasion, and the threshold for what is "special" is very very low (ie, anytime)!

Awesome to hear, I first thought the same thing, good watch to wear on special occasions and moderate dress etc..
In the past week, I have painted a couple walls in my house, gone swimming three times, went mountain hiking, all with it, and only after reading your post did I realize how casually I now wear it. It's the way the watch was meant to be enjoyed!

It will rule until you get tired of not being able to read the time at a glance in dim lighting situations. Then, you'll go back to the Speedy!

For me the Daytona is so much more than "daytime jewelry" Imo it's a masterpiece of engineering and design, just the right size, and just the right mix of sport and bling. |

Seriously, not so much a "problem" just more challenging than my Speedmaster, often taking more than a quick glance. Prior to purchasing the black dial I read all the pros/cons of the Daytona that a TRF search provided, (great read) including the white dial being easier too read, but the black was the one thats always sung to me. |
