Icon20 Question about Rolex Milgauss Sapphire Crystal?

Hey everyone at TRF I'm fairly new hear I think I've been here for about a week now and so far I love this site.

I do have one question though I'm looking into purchasing a White faced Rolex Milgauss. And I'm curious to know if the sapphire crystal was available in the white faced Rolex Milgauss? I know that the sapphire crystal was discountinued after the first year, but I'm curious to know if it was just in the GV edition Rolex? And if it was available with the white Rolex Milgauss what model # would it be? Like a V, M, etc? Thank you so much. I love this site :D

Only the GV has green-tinted sapphire, and it will continue to have the green. The white Milgauss only has had a clear sapphire crystal and will continue to have the clear.

You mean the green sapphire crystal, I assume---as ALL Milgauss models (indeed all modern Rolex watches), have crystals manufactured from corundum, or as most know it, sapphire.)

And in answer to your question, only the 116400 GV has the green sapphire crystal---the black and white dialed Milgauss models have just the plain non-colored sapphire for their crystals, just like any standard modern Rolex watch.

Hope this helps. Cheers!

Best,

Adam

However, if you can source a spare green crystal (as a few here have done) you can have a green sapphire crystal retrofitted to a Milgauss with white dial; there is nothing physically permitting the exchange. Rolex will shun your customized white Millie, but you can always have a watchmaker swap it back to the OEM plain crystal if you have need of a Rolex service center's attentions for some reason.

Go with the GV instead of the white dial. Looks awesome in the sun IMO!
