41mm Datejust 2 review- love it!

I brought my Sea dweller in for service to my local AD and started looking at the new watches in the case. I wasn't in the market for a new Rolex but a 41mm Datejust 2 with a blue dial caught my eye and I tried it on. It was love at first sight. After trying on the 41, the 36 seemed small and I loved the larger size. I tend to wear my Rolex 24/7 and I like a watch that can transition from
a suit to jeans. The DJ met my needs. Its been three days now and I believe that the DJ is the most comfortable watch I have ever worn. I was a little wary about the blue dial after years of wearing a black dial but the blue is a metallic shade that changes hue and color depth depending on the ambient light. The band is butter and the accuracy has been perfect and so far. I am thrilled with my new Rolex.
More to follow including a photo.

Welcome to TRF.

Congrats, as I also tried on the 36 mm DJ when looking to get a DJ. I wanted to like it buit just felt the DJII was a better fit for me at 6'3" and easier on my older eyes.

The TT DJII Slate Dial with Green Roman numerals was my choice.

A photo will have to wait for my 16 year old son to wake up. Need a teen age brain to help post.
Thanks for your welcome to TRF. Looks like this will be fun and informative.
I really love this watch. Its so comfortable that I sometimes forget it is there. Then
I look down to see this beautiful blue face and I just smile.
It took me about 6 visits to the AD to make up my mind. The blue DJ 41 was such a leap from my Sea Dweller that I wanted to be sure I was making the right decision. I loved the Sea Dweller so I decided to keep it rather than trade it in for the 4,000.00 they wanted to pay me for the watch. Good way to start 2012.

Dj2

This is an excellent choice especially for those wanting a big watch.

I have read several articles where people recommend the Sub or GMT over the DJ2 due to popularity and ownership but don't realise the Datejust2 is bigger and suits larger wrists better, whilst I own an original datejust 36mm and a TT Sub I believe the DJ2 is over looked, up and coming and sales must be increasing judging by the interest on TRF.

an Excellent Selection, Enjoy It!

New DJ II

Yes, I am biased toward the 41mm. This one made me a buyer.

Congratulations! I must say that I have had the same experience as yourself and simply had to purchase the DJ II blue dial the moment I laid eyes on it. I did hesistate after trying in on as I found the white gold bezel rather too blingy, but I figure its a Rolex, what else could be more classic?

Hi

I am looking to buy 41mm Datejust steel/white gold fluted bezel online. What is a good price I should pay and any site you suggest?
