It takes TWO to tango! Something special.
My two favorite Rolex of all time are the 16600 Sea Dweller and the 16610LV 50th anniversary. Here are two of my V serial 16600, according to Guido Mondani 2 of likely fewer than 500 in the world. Here is a BNIB and a LNIB unpolished, and the chamfer is simply to fall head over heels for. Not even my others BNIB 16610/16610LV has any chamfer near the level of the Sea Dweller, a level even hard to capture in the pictures. Cheers to one of the toughest watches ever made for man

Hi Dan,
Awesome pieces! I know you are a collector, what is your long range plan for some or all of your BNIB, LNIB watches that you are keeping that way? |

That's a good question. I honestly do not know. One thing for sure I will not be selling anything for a good 10 years, if at all. I am pretty stringent when it comes to putting watches away like plastics have to be very tight and there cannot be shop wear, and empty warranty cards stuff like that. But who knows, perhaps I will wear some one day or give to my kids one day. |

Very nice! My 14060M has similarly luscious factory case chamfers, and I just love them...the lack of those bevels on the newer "supercases" is another of the reasons I tend to greatly respect--but not love--the new generation of Rolex Oysters. With the older cases, each one was slightly different in respect to the edge treatment, something that is no longer "the case".
Yes indeed, those polished bevels are just gorgeous! And, preservation of the chamfers is one reason I personally don't prefer any case polishing come service time. |

Two very nice pieces, Congrats!
I am curious to what the future will bring regarding the value of the modern Rolex. Obviously, everything now is pure speculation based on subtle differences separating these pieces. We have certainly seen the modern Zenith Daytona, and one could argue the current SS Daytona, hold its value, and for certain serials and dial nuances command a healthy premium. But aside from the Daytona, no other watch has been able sustain a premium for a substantial amount of time. Sure the watches have increased in value, but part of that is due to Rolex continually raising their prices. I feel a part of this is craziness is built up by sellers trying to distinguish their watch from others in order to get a slight premium. I will admit that when I heard that the 16610 LV was ending it's production run I bought one, mainly for my son, but also there was a slight hope that it may be worth a tad more. So for now, all I can do is sit back and watch what happens as the current modern Rolex edges closer to becoming vintage. Scott
