Loophole for non grata wives & Rolex
Wondering if any of you have tried this before. Some of us are not as lucky bc our sig others do not understand our sickness. We "need" more than 1 watch and if we have said watch in one color we may want it again, but in a different color. So here's my idea. Show my wife a pic of Jennifer Aniston (sourced from Google) where she is wearing a Milgauss or ExpII. Tell her how sexy and cool looking it is when women wear large sized watches and -as soon as she agrees- run and buy her the watch. She may or may not like it once she wears it, but "the damage is done". And you/me have a new watch! I'm going to try this with an ExpII polar, that way I'll have a black dial and a white to wear. Any opinions?

You can go ahead and try, but no way in heck am I using that plan. First thing my wife would ask is why the hell are you printing out pictures of Jennifer Aniston??? You have much to learn about women... LOL.

Be carefull what you wish for,you just might get it,then you will have to fight your wife over who gets to wear which watch today.

Does your wife buy the same style of shoes or handbag in two different colours, hoping one day you will tell her that you don't like them anymore, so she gets to keep them to herself?
If that works for your wife, then I think you may have a good chance at succeeding your plan |

Good luck with that plan, but most women will see right through it.

This will never work for me. My wife weighs 100 lbs and has tiny wrists. Her watch could be a thumb ring for me!

Word of advice: DON'T DO IT! I made the comment to her during a trip (how nice a man's watch looked on a lady and how it was a hot trend). Now 2 of my babies have left my safe and somehow made it to her nightstand. She is now asking questions about my SS Daytona

I'd rethink your plan because you sure do not want a pissed off spouse.....remember you are part of a team and honest communication is always the best. Just ask her if you can have another watch and she is welcome to use it!!!

Just speak to her honestly. My husband calls me all the time about buying another car for "me" but really wants the car for himself. It just pisses me off. I have 3 cars already and don't need or want another one. He likes cars. If he wants something for him, he should say that. We actually had a fight about that last week. He sent me flowers the next day! Just be honest and don't act like a two year old!!! And do not say "you never let me have anything!" My husband tries that periodically......he gets whatever he wants, for the most part. I wish he would take a Rolex instead of another car!

I've thought about that already. I already got her a 31mm DateJust which she loves, but she also likes the 40mm men's sports models, which is perfect!
My only problem is that if I get one for her, the bracelet will be too small and I'll have to add links every time I wear it... That would be annoying!! |

Put the Jennifer pic here, and get your spouse something nice. Then maybe we'll OK a new watch for you.
