Face in or out?
Just wondering how many of you wear your watches...Rolex or otherwise...with the watch face on the back of your wrist...and how many wear your watches with the face on the inside of your wrist (same side as your palm faces)..???
It might just be a local Hawaiian thing...because I've never really seen it elsewear.... Just wondering...Aloha |

I wouldn't do it either.
But I have seen some people doing it, and I guess they do it to protect the crystal from scratches Also, when driving a car, it is actually handy to have the watch on your wrist like that (makes it easier to tell the time whilst driving without losing attention to the traffic around you).

Always out, never tempted to wear on the inside. I do know people who do though.

The only time I do it is when I am going through an area that I unfamiliar with and don't want to advertise. The London Tube or the NY Subway come to mind.

This brings up another interesting question: How many people (and why) wear their watches on the right hand? Is it just a thing for lefties? Just a preference? Maybe it gets in the way of writing, as people used to do before the computer and typewriter eras. Still, I see some people doing the right-hand thing and I wonder if they're making some kind of statement.

I've seen lots of nurses and nurse's aides that wear a watch to the inside. They say it is more convenient for checking pulse rate of a patient.
I also have a collegue who wears a big Citizen chronograph so loose around his wrist that it spends most of its time upside down. I think it'd drive me crazy to wear a watch that loose. Rawhyde PS I have worn my Tudor Chronograph to the inside, but only when I was using it a lot for timing things at work. Once or twice in the 11 years I've had it. |

I wore mine in when I was 15, to be cool! (So I thought)
Now I know a little better, and wear it out. When I see customers wearing the watch in, I always recommend them to change to out, because there is a bigger risk of scratching/smashing the crystal. Especially the sapphires tend to ship the edges quicker... Vanessa |

That's kinda what I thought...that wearing it with the face in might cause even more scratching/chipping issues...the very issues I would guess people were trying to avoid in the first place...I didn't know there was actually a statistic on it...LOL |
