BaselWorld 2012 - what can we realistically expect?

What do you think is realistic to expect this year?
(i.e. no Coce, Pepsi or SS YM II or SS DD )

My guess is:
- More dial options for the DD II
- Daytona c on RG bracelett
- GMT IIc in RG
- Maybe a GMT IIc in WG with blue besel and dial?
- Nothing for the SUB
- Updated clasp for the YM (but I was wrong last year about this one)

What do you expect?

There is no way of knowing, but I do expect people to find something to be unhappy about after Basel. And then the guessing for 2013 will begin...

I was told in the near future Rolex will get into complications watches. Got the info from a reputable AD.

I was told a couple of years ago that they classify the Cosmograph and YMII movements as complications. So they do them already.

Yesterday I strapped on Marty and got into my modified DeLorean to time travel to 1920 and spoke to Hans Wildsorf personally! He informed me that we can all expect to be SURPRISED! All jokes aside I am just as anxious as the next collector to see what new offerings are in the making... Keep your eyes peeled for Jocke's Basel post as he will take us on the Basel adventure... Can't lose sleep, patience young Jedi!

I don't think most of those are realistic.

Updated YM I... ND Sub-C would be my guesses

I think they will really hype up a YMI update and then some more hideous dial options for the datejusts. That is all.

Yeah, there's been a lot of talk about a possible chrono called the Sky-Dweller. We'll see....

Do you know if Rolex has taken out a 'Sky-Dweller' trademark?

Steve that's my understanding from what's been reported elsewhere.

It would be interesting if they would release the mysterious Sky-Dweller.

My guess for an update is a new kind of bracelet for the ceramic Daytona.

I was visiting an AD today and "Sky-Dweller" was the thought of the day for a new release. Of course, no one knows for sure just guessing.

This is definitely something that Rolex should have already done and now that it has been mentioned and based on some information about current (not future) models, I kind of expect that this will happen, if not this year, then in the near future.

In fact, I think it makes perfect sense.

My guesses, all should be realistic:

- TT Daytona-C
- updated gold YM I
- new dials for DJII and DDII

I cannot add Pepsi GMT IIC to that list, because I can only hope that such a thing would ever come to life. If it had "just" a solid red ceramic bezel, then we all know it can already be done (ie. Hublot made it), but a two-tone ceramic bezel is still difficult to produce.

au contraire...just take a half red bezel and half black bezel and glue em together with some elmers

easy peasy

If it was that easy, Rolex and others would already have done it. Joining different coloured half-bezels is tricky, as long as you want to make it last 30+ years. The two halves cannot come apart, even if you bang or drop your watch, even if temperature drops below -30 Celsius or above +60 Celsius, etc. etc. A lot of difficulties for a simple glue

OK, maybe they should use superglue instead of elmers
