They have a memory leak issue that causes Safari to crash all the time.

iPad user since launch day in 2010 and neither iPad 1 or 2 gave me that problem. Ever.

Ahhh, was wondering what caused it to do that. Seems like after I power it off it is better for a time but yes, it crashes out on Safari or some programs.

Store is live now. The only thing lacking is 128GB but it certainly won't stop me from getting this to replace my ipad2. The hotspot feature is great too
:edit: Store WAS live. I hit back than forward and I got the "We'll be back soon" page. |

FWIW, I've had my iPad 2 for 6 months or so and never had Safari crash...in fact, it has worked flawlessly. Between my wife, myself, and my daughter, it probably sees 8-10 hours of use every day.
I wish everything were this reliable.

Me too. Never once had any crash on either of our iPads since we got them last May. These things just work, and do everything we need, so will likely just wait for the iPad 4.

I'm happy with my IP2 for the time.
Won't be rushing out for one. I don't recall ever experiencing those crashes in Safari. The Facebook app craps out occassionally. Need to reboot. But this hasn't happened for months now. Probably an app issue.

You are lucky. Happens to me everyday all the time. Very irritating and no fix yet. Apple can't address it- tried with tech and they are at a loss. Check Apple Forums as it is all over them.

Prolly because the limited 256MB cache overflows and sends a reset to iOS. It also happens on some Apps. I didn't see if the new iPad has a larger cache - the tech specs I found didn't go that deep.

With the number of units sold, there are bound to be some issues for sure. I, myself, just pre-ordered a new 3. The 2 will be passed down.
