Can't believe the sharpness and clearity of these 70 year old pictures

Some of those don't even look real! Great photos, thanks for the link.

70 y.o. 4x5 Kodachromes beat even the best digital sensors today for continuous color tone. And a skilled lighting set-up helped, too.
Thanks for sharing.

Great photos of the greatest generation!

There's nothing like the sharpness of a large format camera coupled with the vivid color of Kodachrome film.

Fantastic

Wow, what a piece of history that should never be forgotten. I wonder if any of these photos can be purchased?

Amazing lighting and focus. If you enjoy high-resolution old photos, check out shorpy.com. The site has tens of thousands of great old pictures. I especially enjoy the Civil War photos.

Love those pics! Interesting how nearly every woman pictured had her nails perfectly manicured - even while doing that kind of work!

Thanks for posting.

If you want to see some old, sharp, high resolution pictures, you should visit http://www.shorpy.com/ .

There's enough there to keep you busy for a couple of weeks and it's a trip back in time.

And here I thought life was actually grainy and the world was made of muted colors back then.
