TT Daytona, Slate vs. Champagne...

I have been eyeing the TT Daytona as of late. I have yet to try one on and see which one jumps out at me. I'm just curious what everyone here thinks? I think both look great, what would you go for? As always please post pics if you have any!

I like the way the slate dial "matches" the stainless steel components of the tutone Daytona.

I would go with slate as it is a more uncommon dial color (hence rarer in the wild) than champagne plus I like how the contrasting slate dial color vs the TT case/bezel/bracelet. It would be my choice given those are your choices given.

If you were to expand the dial color, i'd go for white dial with stick markers, more classy IMO. And most of my weekday wear to the office is white shirts (plain and striped) so the match is there. If I were to think of contrast with my shirts, i'd pick a black dial.

but whatever color dial you choose, it'd be quite a looker coz it's a Daytona. You can never go wrong.

Thanks so much for the input everyone. It seems Slate is the winner for the options given. I see white is popular, I have not considered it for a TT Daytona but I may have to check it out as well. It always seemed very "busy" to me with the TT case and bracelet and then the white face. But the more I look at it the more I like it, I'll just have to try and find some different combos to try on. Although, it doesn't seem the TT Daytonas are a huge seller, so finding all 3 combos in my area might be tricky. But as mentioned above, it's a Rolex Daytona so I can't really go wrong! (sans leopard of course!)

Thanks again Gentlemen

I still vote for champagne.....or white....those dial colors will, IMHO age better, stay in fashion.

And you never know, the meteorite dial is made from a real one....who knows what's in it...aliens, ????, you wanna take a chance????

between your two choices, i'd go with slate. better contrast against the hands.

but for me, i'm still going between blue Arabic and the panda.

Neither. Go with one of the dials with Arabic numbers.

I had a TT slate Daytona, got the dial changed within a week to white as I just couldn't check the time while driving- the Daytona has a pretty crowded face and (to me, at least) the slate only helped in reducing contrast further.
All my problems vanished with the white dial

Ditto here! My first Daytona had the slate face which looked awesome in pictures and under the bright lights of my AD. But I quickly found that I could practically never read the time or the subdials in any regular, ambient or outdoor light and forget trying to read it on a bright sunny day. I returned it and now have a TT white faced Arabic Panda dial and can read all the dials easily in any light!

Slate! It just blends so nicely. I also saw the navy dial with arabics, that is stunning.

Thats a beautiful piece Nick C, thank you for posting. I think I am leaning towards Slate as well. I'm still a ways away from having the funds together to purchase, but I'm starting to look closer at them. As I've learned, the research and day-dreaming is just as fun as the day you actually take possession. So I might as well enjoy it!

But this is the kind of stuff that could convert me, given that I've not yet seen the tt slate! The take-it-to-shoot-the-elk more steel than gold/bling look with the slate really shines and helps the tt bracelet to act subtly yet beautifuly accenting the subrings! love!!!
