Price Increase

When is the next pricfe increase expected? Is it October?
Are the increases 5-10% accross the board or is different depending on the model?

It's been a full year since the last increase, so I'd bet the next increase isn't too far off.

Based on model. Some models took a bigger hit than others. The Sub Date and GMT increased by $650. I consider that significant.

No one really knows untill Rolex releases that information. While the last increase (in the states) was last OCT. that doesn't mean one will come this OCT. Prior to that the last couple increases were in FEB.

During the last increase different references went up by different percentages. I want to say the 14060M took the biggest percentage hit, but I'm not sure.

if there ll be %10 price increase every year, after 2 years ROLEX will be watch just for museum, and they can not increase 100USD if the price of the watch is 8000 it will be funny increase and shame for them so new models colors, red face GMTII's will come Submariners will be also updated and they will increase %10 I think but it will be after 1 year and a little bit more I think. Unfortunutely.

Rolex watches certainly aren't getting any cheaper. I just bought a new Sub a few weeks ago... I was afraid I wouldn't be able to afford a new one much longer.

Who here thinks the 16610 Sub will hit the $6k mark with the next increase? Maybe not, but it'll come darn close.

If not, really close. The TT Subs will be easily over $8,000 too.

BNIB they're really out of my price range once they broke the 5k barrier. Fortunately they'll last a good long time.

Last October the SS Daytona.....

went from $6950 to $7900. Another increase could happen anytime and another one like that could put them near $9000.

Just saw this thread after I posted mine...

I say the next price increase will be right around the corner, and could be US-specific. The dollar has weakened so badly this year that a 10% or more US $ increase across the board would be completely justified.

the reason Rolex increase its price for every production series is very simple - it creates a sense of value-retain for its customers. eg if i bought a Z-series Sea-Dweller this year at $5,000 , and Rolex increases price of its M-series (latest production batch) by 5% the following year , instead of my watch depreciating after 1year of use , its value actually retained . i will feel that my purchase was really a good one because this is like an investment to me ! you put money in stocks and shares and certainly you want to see its value go up . Rolex preserve the value of your purchase and thereby creating the image to the world that every Rolex is an investment and a valuable commodity. They are not going to make any more watches than they are now (1mil per year) , and that's the way things are going to be for now and maybe till the next century !

I can not understand how a 1 million watches producer like Rolex can raise prices to keep their old models' value high. I mean where is the figuer "1 million" watches actually comes from? and if Rolex did indeed produced 1 million watches per year then how long have they been doing that? 15? 20? 25? years. So that must means there are more than 20 million Rolex produced and if you were to collect Rolexes instead of putting money into other long term investments you be richer!!!

Any truth to the production of 1 million watches per year? And for how many years now? Just very curious....

Simple math . Look at the serial number of every production series - starts at 000001 and ends 999999 , so what does this number tell u ? Bingo , 1mil ! and how frequent does Rolex change its prodcution series alphabet ? Once a year ? or Once every 1.5year? there u go , almost 1mil watches a year , get it ? and they've been doing this since the start of the 80s , when they started using alphabets for every series , started with R, L , E , X ... till the recent F, D , Z , M ... and because they RARELY make huge changes to all their references , buying a Submariner 5years ago is the same as buying one now , except that the price has increased a fold ! in that way , a 5yr old Submariner with exactly the same design as a new one now retained its value ! get it?
