Coke or Pepsi?

I am looking to buy my second Rolex. My first a Sub has been a great watch and I am hooked. But for my second I want to go old. I love both the Coke and the Pepsi and one of them will be my next Rolex. I would appreciate any comments as to what is the better value. But would also welcome comments on what to look out for as a buyer of a used watch. Thanks.

Get both! They are cheap inserts. Or better yet, get the black one as well. Add a jubilee bracelet to that and you have the most versitile Rolex to date

One MUST sing to you a little more and thats the one that you should buy, then add the other insert.

That's the beauty with the 16710 - you can have a different look all the time.

Good luck with the hunt!

Coke is indeed available in the first issue of the GMT Master ref 6542. Bakelite bezel. And the first GMT II model was available only in Coke. AKA fat lady / Sophia Loren.

You really don't have to choose. Like the others have said, just find one in the right condition for the right price and seek out additional inserts!

Good luck!

Black and red for me, because that's it's original design colours. I think it's to do with the two best colours under cockpit lighting.

Yep, buy one, get the other two inserts, and you've got 3 watches. I got the Pepsi, but haven't picked up the other two inserts yet...
