My Seiko loves running fast
Hey everybody. Like the title says, my Seiko runs 2-5 minutes fast. It will run accurate for maybe a day or two and then all hell breaks loose. Honestly though, do all of these run this fast or does it need to be regulated? It's one of the Automatic divers by the way.
Thanks, Tyler

Is the stem located @ 4 o'clock? Most likely it's a 7S26 movement. Mine runs WAY fast as well, though not as fast as you describe. I'd sure get it regulated. If you have the tools and are dexterous, it can be done @ home. Look HERE for a quick pic of what to do...

Yes it is at the 4 o'clock position. Thanks for the fast reply. My dad works with a guy that works on watches (usually Rolex's) all the time. I'm sure he'll to it for cheap.

My 7S26 typically runs fast but not within 2 days... usually after a few weeks.

easily remedied at home with the right tools. DO you have a caseback remover?

Thanks for all of the replies everyone! Unfortunately I do not have a caseback remover, although now that I have complained about it running fast, it seems to be quite accurate.

Mine runs fast as well. I have learned to live with it, but if it really does bother you, just take it to a SEIKO dealer and they will adjust it for you.
Love my Black Monster!

The key with this movement is that its full wound before regulation. Also if you let it run down it will actually run faster. Once regulated you really need to keep it on a winder.
