Fathers Day & My 1st Rolex! Deep Sea
I have always admired the Rolex brand! Now I have my first "real" watch. My wife and sons gave me the Sea Dweller Deep Sea today at lunch, so needless to say I was speechless, I had no idea. My youngest son remembered me commenting on the Deep Sea model a few months back.
Anyway, I am thrilled to have the watch and also to learn more about these amazing timepieces. A question for you all that golf. I usually remove my watch and leave it in my bg during the round, but I don't want to just drop this one in my bag like I would my old watch (tissot). What do you recommend placing the watch in during play? Not sure leaving it on my wrist will work...hot in Texas and don't want to get sweat/sand all over it. Thanks |

First, welcome to TRF!
Second, congrats on the new watch....The DSSD is one great piece to own. Probably the most worn in my collection!! Now if you don't want to wear it whilst playing golf, drop it into a sock before placing it in the golf bag... Personally, I'd just leave it on if it were me however. A quick shower after-wards will clean it right up! Enjoy the boards and post some pics when you can!

I agree, I have the small Oakley Watch Vault and it is great for a single watch when at the gym or traveling. Amazon usually has them if you can’t get them from Oakley. Oh, and welcome.

Congrats neighbor.
As for storage, I second the Oakley Vault. Do find a way to tether it to you bag too! Here's an example on what I use as a safe inside my carry-on. I would recommend the same for your bag.

I use that safe for my G23 in my car if I ever need to go to the post office or another federal building I can't carry. Great safe. I did not want the one with the key and found the number lock to be perfect.

Hi, the brand is *unvault and it's the Nano vault with the combination option (there is a key option). Inside is lightly padded but you can cut foam to fit snug.
Love it bc it tethers to anything anywhere! Replace the * for G ( Forum rules ) Love it bc it is TSA approved. You can take your watches and not worry that they will be taken since you'll have to open the case once thru security and stand and watch them see inside. Then lock and go. No chance for it falling off you bag or someone reaching in during inflight if you have to place your bag on a overhead away from your line of sight etc.

Before I tee off on the 1st, I take it off and put it in a soft cloth drawstring and I make sure my watch stays "with" me until I putt my last ball on the 18th. I never take my watch off before or anywhere my bag is unattended or out of sight.

Congrats!
I put my watch in the valuables section on my bag, if it's going to be in there with a bunch of other items (iPhone etc) I'll put it in a sock first. More worried about scratching my phone than watch.

Personally, I would leave it on. I doubt you are going to hurt it playing golf. You are more apt to lose it or drop it every time you remove it or o to put t back on.just leave it on and enjoy!
