Win, Place, and Show........in Ky!
Ok sports fans.........
Although I'm no gambler and know nothing about horses I always enjoy the fall tradition of a trip to Keeneland in Lexington, Ky to experience the "Sport Of Kings". In fact, it was the 24th running of The Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup. Now my strategy is very simple: my wife and I look thru the list of horses in each race and place a large bet [5$ across the board, big spender ] on the horse who's name has some connection with us. So low and behold what do I find in the 2nd race? Number 12, Swiss Reserve. And damned if she didn't win. Made my day. When asked by my friend Dan S. why I picked Swiss Reserve, I just pointed to my GMT. Plus the added bonus of using the bezel to measure how long till postime for each race. BTW, later in the 6th race I asked for horse # 4 at the window and received horse #3. That horse won too! 4 came in last. Many Rolex watches seen of all descriptions. Not to mention a cool Rolex clock or two. Didn't get rich but had a blast. dP
