Scratched GMTIIc bezel told number

Hey guys,

Hopefully you can help me out here..

My GMTIIc is the ss version, and so the numbers 'in' the bezels are WG

Now, while scooping out some gunk, which I guess was mainly congealed suncream etc, it appears I've scraped away a bit too, hard on the top left bit of the 8 of the 18 so now I would describe a section of it as really shiny instead of the matted finish the rest of the numbers have.

I not sure whether I've scratched something away or merely revealed what the rest of it should all look like.

I should add that I purchased the watch last month from a grey dealer, albeit a reputable lone in the uk.

Has this happened to anyone else in the past?

Thanks!

In the title I meant 'Gold,' not 'told'

Cheers

On the SS models, the numbers are created using particles of platinum, not white gold.

Try giving the bezel a scrub with a toothbrush and some warm soapy water, it just looks like the dirt has come away a little more than the rest of the numeral

Looks like the plat. came off when you were scraping it. Always use a soft brush to clean as this happens when hard or sharp tools are used. Hopefully Rolex won't give you issues about buying grey and fix it for you. If you have to pay for a new bezel insert I think the insert is around $450. I think the total bezel is around $1k.

Cheers for the help guys

Does anyone know, can you just order a bezel and click it in in the local AD or would it have to be sent away.

Just thinking like the old bezels, the aluminium ones that pele couple swap in/out as they pleased seemed pretty easy to do.

Thanks

The ceramic bezel will be a bit more expensive than the the old aluminum stlye ones & I'm told that they don't just snap in anymore.
