Good price...Submariner and 50th?

Today I was in northern VA at a AD looking and wishing... I was offered a deal on a 18Kt/Stainless that listed for $7825 for $6651...but no discount on the Sub...$5175 or $5600 for the 50th..... What is a good deal on the plain Sub from a AD???

Honestly I think it depends on your area and the AD (and your relationship with your AD). Some won't budge on MSRP some will give a good discount.

Which AD? I'm in NoVA too.

From what I gather, regular 16610's are not too discounted since they are very popular. Looks like a good price for a new TT though. Plus, like Mike said, depends on your relationship with them and what you've bought in the past.

That is a good deal on a new TT Sub. If you can get the sales tax dropped that would be a great deal!!

TT is two toned, meaning part gold, part stainless steel (the offical term is either rolesor or rolesium, I can never tell which is which).

I should have known there was an AD in old town. I work down the road and could have been hanging out there at lunch time during the summer. Ah well.

If you go there, ask for Ken Shaulis.. he was very helpful.. looked up the replacement value for the wifes... TT... I was surprised that the replacement value is $1800 more than I paid for it 2 years ago.... I think she may buy me one for Christmas...

That's an excellent price for the TT. I've been checking out my local ADs and $7042.50 has been the lowest I've manage to get.

i shopped for a sub for a while, the best i found was 4450. from an AD in Italy. i believe it was a good deal b/c i was referred from a high paying customer. also found 4700 - 4800 from a few AD in NJ. I bought a greenie this past oct for 5300. even. it was shipped from NJ to NY which saved on tax. a place like torneau didnt budge on the stainless sub. you ll probably do better from a jewerly store who is an AD.

Both Hauser's and Goodman and Sons here in Hampton Roads will discount 5-10% on anything but the Daytona. A friend got 11% off a datejust at Reeds in Norfolk!

TT Sub offer = GOOD deal!

No discount on the regular SS Sub:

You should be able to get 10 % on the SS Sub Date, and even on the LV, since it is not any "new" release from Rolex anymore.

Kings are OK.

I hae bought from Ken before. I am amazed that they are offering you 15% out of anything in that store as they can be tight with a discount, especially on SS Subdates.

The reality is that no one in Northern VA will discount a SS subdate.

If you can talk them into shipping to a DC address you may want to jump on that.

10% on a 16610 seems like the absolute outer limit to me. Lots of grey sites have NIB Z 16610s listed for $4800; I've seen Ms for $4900. Likewise, I saw a LV listed the other day for like $6200!! Yikes!!
