The ORIGINAL AD Rolex clock looks like a DJ with "gold" fluted bezel and a large wooden case. Not for sale, unfortunately!!

My understanding is it came from a dealer who no longer sells Rolex after they cut back on AD's in the 90's. I couldn't find any dealer display clocks on Ebay.

Through a Google search I managed to find a dealer in Texas who previously had one on his website for $500. The item is no longer available and I tried to post a link here for reference but my post doesn't post with the link. The clock is made of plastic, round, about 12'' and consists of the Sub's face and bezel. Possibly real Rolex display clock or definite fake? Is $500 a realistic purchase price?

The only real wall clocks they make are complimentary and for ADs only. They look like a typical DJ with a "gold" fluted bezel and large wooden case. The watch is pretty huge (I'm guessing around 15" in diameter) and is powered by a single AA battery. These are display models only and made specially for their ADs only - nothing else. All other Rolex clocks you might see outside the AD's shop, etc. are also made especially for the AD's display purpose - not for sale. JJ

I have two Rolex Clocks I purchased on ebay. One was about $95 and the other a little over $100. They have the sweeping seconds though.

Yes, something like that....but, in all honesty, that pic is way too bright and not doing the originality any justice!!

Were the ones you purchased on Ebay the same as shown in the link? I looked into this further and I'm told this does have a sweeping second hand and is manufactured by Horometrie Suisse who makes only authorized dealer display clocks. |

As mentioned in my previous post I'm told this is made by Horometrie Suisse for Rolex as a dealer display. It is not being represented as made by Rolex. Web searching I find Horometrie Suisse only manufactures clocks for authorized dealers and manufacturers. It was never intended for sale to the general public and is now being offered to me as a collectible. I am now comfortable with it's authenticity, I'm just having trouble justifying the high price being requested and wanted advice from this forum. |

However, a lot of stuff on ebay cannot be trusted and most of those "Rolex" clocks are just imitation novelties. JJ

Thanks for the picture. Same clock except the one offered to me is a Sub and a lot more than $100. I may have to take a pass! Do they come up on Ebay often? Have you seen any Sub models and if so have they sold at similar prices to yours? |

Todd: I bought my Rolex Clocks about 18 months ago. At that time, there were only a few on ebay. I purposely looked for a sub, but there were none.
Please do not pay $500 for one of these. That is a complete sucker price. You can live without it.

Oh ABS I'm sure if it came with a gold chain, JJ would proudly wear that Rolex around his neck
