Neat pic! I broke the 4L60E a couple times in my old Camaro. Once I lost a couple of shift solenoids, so only had 2nd gear start and 3rd (drove home from Bowling Green Kentucky to Chicago in 3rd), but only a 3200 stall converter (and stock 3.23's out back) so not too bad. Was rebuilt with kevlar bands, upgraded valves, the whole nine yards.

The next time had a 4600 stall w/2.5 STR (and 4.10's out back) and the main bearing failed in the converter, which then lunched the impeller and blew shavings though everything. :D Still worked up until it cooled down, then I think the shavings came out of solution and made things very unhappy.

Otherwise it was rock solid! :D

Your Camaro must have been making a lot of torque!

We're going through valving and solenoid operation this afternoon.

I'm doing a 700-R4 at home right now. Hardened input and stator support shafts, Corvette 5 pinion carriers, trick input drum with 7 plate fwd. clutch, Beast sun shell, etc, etc. Glad I'm not picking up the parts tab for this one!

Probably just under 400lb/ft at the wheels, but a bit hard to measure. But that Yank Thruster Pro 4600 was killer; press the foot down, engine would hit 5000rpm and that 2.5 stall torque ratio probably put the equivalent of 900lb/ft, but only for a short time.

On my plate today is the same drama as every day. And I'm not an actor.

Ahhhh.... If it weren't for THM's I'd be a lesser mechanic (and I'm not one). Had a ball overhauling my 200-4R in my Turbo Regal - more than once. I should have spent my time making a TF727 adapter kit for that beast - I may have sold a couple!

I got a bonus today for completing my goal of implementing a PDM system for our SolidWorks CAD program.
The company I work for has an incentive program:
Every day is bad but if you do a special project outside of your regular duties they throw you a bonus.
If you complete these goals that equals 4 happy days each year.

Today, finished installing, configuring, remapping some financial software to streamline our reports at our firm.
Got it just how I want it, now time to train the staff.
This will be the test of my patience for sure. One staff member is pretty computer illiterate. It took him two days to hook up his TV, DVD Player, Cable box & a plug-n-play sound system.

Working with a few Co-eds on grad school choices

Woke up at 6:30. Made coffee, got dressed, made school lunch and breakfast for the two girls. Fed baby. Shuttled 7 year old to school. Took 4 year old across town to in-law's house so I could attend her parent-teacher conference. Fed baby. Headed back across town for conference and endured screaming of baby who was unhappy being strapped into car seat. Woke up baby who had finally fallen asleep as I was parking the car in the school parking lot. Tried to listen to teacher in conference while wrestling tired and fussy baby. Fed baby. On the way across town again stopped by a deli to get lunch to bring to in-laws. Dropped the sack of sandwiches while unlocking the car but did not drop baby. Sat in a traffic jam due to a work crew restriping the highway. Arrived at in-law's house. Watched 4 year old poke holes in her sandwich with her fingers. Got slight tension headache. Thanked in-laws and headed across town again. Baby slept all the way! Got home, fed baby. Changed poopy diaper and emptied poopy training potty. Negotiated with 4 year old about number of pieces of Halloween candy (one). Started a load of laundry. Looked at pile of dirty dishes in sink. Checked TRF while balancing baby on my lap. Thought about paying some bills online. Sustained a cut lip due to sudden head butt from said baby. In half an hour, back to the school to pick up 7 year old. Then dinner, baths, hair combing, bedtime stories, and more TRF time before it's off to bed.

Not a bad life, but sometimes I really miss working!
