One of my biggest gripes is doggie doo. Turds. Crap. The Dutch are animal lovers. Dogs are especially popular as every Tom, Dick and Harry (and their wives) seems to own at least one. Man’s best friend. And I agree. Owning a pet makes one live longer and it relieves stress. Good for them, I say. But dogs have to eat and what goes in has to come out again. And out it comes! The revolting brown (and sometimes other coloured) goo is everywhere and the owners (not all) couldn’t care less.

Although there are some laws in place that forces the owner to carry a bag and clean up after the dog, people don’t give a sh*t about it. And where are the police when you need them? I once caught a woman with a big Alsatian in front of my shed. (Most Dutch apartments have rows of small sheds in a community area. This is where you can keep your bikes and other stuff). It was squatted down to take the ‘stance’. I asked her what the hell she was doing in front of my shed. But it was as if I summoned a demon! She cursed like a bosun and if her wishes had come true I wouldn’t be writing this. And the dog dumped his heavy load. Dang!

I waited ‘till she left with the dog, took a shovel from the shed, scooped up the ‘treat’ and followed her from a distance to her house. After she shut the front door behind her I whacked the ‘treat’ against that same door. Revenge.

I once did a similar thing. I saw the woman's dog take a big dump on the lawn and waited to see if she picked it up. She didn't and kept on walking. So at night, I got out the shovel and pitched the dog's crap on her lawn (a street away). No one else on the street owned a dog, so it had to be her and her mutt, and five days out of seven I'd find at least one pile on my lawn. Every time I found one, I delivered it to the rightful owner and the crap kept piling up.

After about a month of these um, transactions, I stopped finding stools on my lawn.

Nice job guys. I had the same problem here. The dog across the street kept dumping on my lawn and when I saw him I would chase him away or when I didn't I would run it over when I cut the lawn. All this while the owner would take her breast implanted self on her front porch and just yell "Dudley, come home." I felt like yelling back to her come get your dog you stupid bit#h. We live in a somewhat rural neighborhood so I didn't want to be a jerk about the leash law and make the other good dogs have to abide by it since it was only this dog.
I got fed up so for three days in a row when I went to get the paper I would scoop up some turds on my lawn and fling them on the door handles of their cars. Guess what? No more Dudley turds on my lawn.

Well, the people next door had a dog that would crap all over our lawn, so I used to get the shovel and heave ho! We, on the other hand, always pick up after our devil/dog.........in fact, I just got back from walking him about 20 minutes ago and had to pick up twice.

Huge pet peeve of mine when people don't pick up behind their dogs. Our neighborhood has little baggies at the corners for people to use, wis people would use them.

After reading all of the above, I've come to the conclusion that owning a dog is a quite a "shitty" job!!

Yes agree Frans if you have a dog you should be responsible and pick it up dispose of it properly.My neighbour has 5 cats and they have a habit of crapping on my lawn.Nothing worse than cat crap clinging to the mower blades.
