Hurricane Sandy

Holy shit, arrived yesterday in the Bahamas to find myself right in the path of hurricane Sandy.

A real good start to a vacation.

Hopefully another 24 hours til it passes and then, good luck Miami or New York.

Just glad to be pissed at the bar at the One and Only in Nassau as I type this.

I'm a hurricane virgin being a Brit, so to be honest I'm quite enjoying the whole experience of a hurricane.

Woot!!!

Have been in a few myself. I'd suggest you not take this too lightly as things can be flying around, dangerous things ..... stay away from the beach until it passes as storm surge kills more than the winds. Not trying to be an alarmist just telling you to take care and stay out of the way.

Even a Cat 1 spawns tornadoes so agree that venturing out or stumbling around can be very hazardous.

Stay safe!

All I can say is that I'm glad I'm missing it. I'll be there next week, hope no big damages!

I don't think you have to worry about it Andreas as it looks like it turning away from Florida.

It's coming to Rhode Island early next week. Not looking forward to it. Will be working over the weekend to prepare.

Hey Paul, love the One and Only!! Have a drink at Dune for me, I love John-George's food! Best golf course on the Caribbean as well! I'm sure you already know but if not you have to go to Grey-Cliff one night in Nassau, great food and the best cigars there are. All of their makers are Cuban trained!!

The DC-NY coastline is in path by Monday - good luck and update your flood insurance if you have it.

Too late, you can't update when a hurricane is approaching.

Not any damage though? I'll be there in a few days, and want the perfect beach.

No damage to speak of, but I haven't been driving around really, and some roads are still closed/blocked off.. Not to mention the boat show was this weekend, so the traffic is crazier than ever :/ You'll be fine though

Crossing fingers for you guy's up north, my family and friends are all up there too so i'm hoping it doesn't amount up to the stature it's depicted to be!

I have evacuated the Jersey shore to my parents house, my shore rental will most likely have water damage, thank god the people who bought my house closed last week. I would not want to pay for a water damaged house. Be safe everyone on the eastern seaboard.
