Holy Hydro, Batman!!!
Our utility company installed a "Smart" hydro meter in our house yesterday. This one tracks not only how much hydro you use, but also when you use it.
Here's the Readers' Digest version of the new rates. The OEB web site provides detailed information about Ontario's smart meter initiative and the regulated rate plan. Here's a snapshot of regulated smart meter rates for summer: Winter Weekdays (November 1 to April 30) 7 am to 11 am 8.7 ¢/kWh 11 am to 5 pm 7.0 ¢/kWh 5 pm to 8 pm 8.7 ¢/kWh 8 pm to 10 pm 7.0 ¢/kWh 10 pm to 7 am 3.0 ¢/kWh
