Cold morning!

I went to check the rain gauge this morning to see how much rain we had over the last day, however, it looks like some estimating is in order.......

What do you think - 40mm or so based on the level of ice?

Minus 3 C this morning with minus 10 wind chill. Looks like snow squalls this afternoon and a couple of inches on the ground. I guess it's time to put the car away.....

It was 0C when I was in the car this a.m. However that's supposed to change tonight. Going down to -10C with snow expected overnight. The high tomorrow is supposed to be -5C.

I better put the ice scraper and brush in the car.

See what you have to look forward to, Bruce?

Remember that yesterday was 75F in our neck of the woods. Of course today the predicted high is 45F, so it appears that fall is on its way to DC.

It sure was mild yesterday! I looked at the week forecast for Callington, Cornwall and it was rain, grey and cold all week. I was like, bloody hell. I'm gonna need that light therapy stuff when we get there!

Well according to the long range forecast its going to be one of the coldest
winters on record. But last bad winter we had was 1992,and we have had
heavy frosts and snow in November. When this does happen a cold winter
normally follows, the lowest temperatures I can recollect where I live, up in mountains is -18c.

Wow that's cold! Hopefully, it'll be thawed out by spring when we move, but I guess we will be there end of Feb, or early March for a house hunting trip.
