Slow year for watches for me... how was it for you?

Slow year for me... no new watches, still with the fantastic four that I have. I did entertain the possibility of a RG Daytona w/ black dial or the Smurf... in the end, I could not pull the trigger just yet.

Maybe in 2013.

On the flip side - I got my youngest brother to buy a SubC and I got my father-in-law to pull the trigger on a TT DJII w/ sticks on a champagne dial.

How was your year in watches?

I just ordered a Seiko 5 from Amazon because I've always been interested in them and I saw the first one at the bowling alley just yesterday worn by the brother of my coach. He bought his for hunting and working as one of the mechanics on staff.

I don't have high expectations for it, as it was only $69, but I like the looks of it and it will fill a niche.

As for Rolex, I picked up my Sub from the AD one year ago this month and I have not purchased another watch before tonight.

I don't know exactly what the future will hold for future purchases, but I know when the bug bites, I have to act. I'm just waiting.

Six in, twelve out. It's movement in the right direction, and my "in column" includes my first Rolex Sub, so it's been a good year. At the end of the year, these were the keepers...

Six keepers out of seven purchases for a total of eight watches, two of the ones I bought last year were sold as well.

2012 started out well with what i thought was bronze....

turns out, it was brass, and magrette took it back with a full refund.

next move was to say goodbye to this beauty:

in order to welcome this one.

hope 2013 brings great things to you all.

Slowest year I've had in about 4 years. No new additions at all, and moved a couple out to friends as gifts. Current collection stands at 6, but hoping to flip my Datejust for a GMT IIc in the new year...

2012 has been a good year in context of watches for me. I got a AP ROO, PP 5712, Tudor heritage chrono, sub LVc, and a sub lb (smurf) this year.

I did sell a Bell and Ross though.

I ordered a seiko in the spring. Full auto movement and a saphire crystal for $180. Was a great deal. I thought the bracelet was too shiny so I put it on a NATO. You can't go wrong Grady!
