Something Different and I Like It!!

Here we go ladies and gents.....

What is this? Looks like a boring white outer box.

Inside, we have another box, something else to take up drawers space. It is a nice material and snaps very tightly shut.

Open up that box and there she is.

My new IWC Aquatimer Chrono in Ti, with an extra OEM rubber strap. First impressions are very good. This watch is so much lighter than the others I own. I used the included tool and quickly took out one link and it fits perfect. The bracelet is super comfortable and very solid feeling. Some people have complained that the bracelet at the lugs is not very flexible, this could be a problem if the fit is just not perfect, but for me it is. I am not a bezel user, so I actually really like the internal bezel, the pusher at the 4 operates it. It rotates only counter clockwise and is a neat toy to play with.

I like the darker Ti finish, something very different from my current watches and totally new to me. I have heard that Ti scratches pretty easy, so I will report back on that after awhile. It is 42mm so it is right between my Rolex and Panerai.

Here are a few more pics that I took quickly, I really like this watch and I think it fits in with the YM and 88 perfectly.

Congrats, I've been eyeing the SS non-chrono for a while now. IWC makes one hell of a divers watch.

Had the IWC Deep One for a very short time, around 2001,if I remember it had Jaeger-LeCoultre movement. But the watch did not smile at me then,
perhaps it was the dull grey case.I bought it second hand but still took quite a hit when I traded it.But now wish I kept it, they are quite rare now
think there was only 800--1000 made,But a fine watch with a excellent finish and movement, but at that time just did not smile back for me.So
Daren enjoy your new watch mate, and wear it in good health, great pictures.

Congratulations, Daren. Very nice. And it's the titanium that makes it so light. As for scratching, I haven't noticed any excessive scratches on my GP ww.tc and I don't baby it any more than any of my others - like the time this morning when I banged the GMT against the bathroom door jamb. Took it like the trooper it is - not a scratch.

Awesome watch Daren, Congrats and enjoy.

As for Ti, I don't have any experience with it in watches, but plenty of my training partners have had Ti bike frames over the years. The beauty is that if it does get scratched, you can easily buff (i.e. scratch in the 'right' direction) them out.

Thanks J and Ed!! I am liking the Ti, not sure if I like the strap or bracelet better though, they are both comfy.

My personal fav on that is the bracelet. The strap looks real good too. Since its Ti does that mean it's super light? How much do those things cost? That may be a good post - Sub watch.

It is lighter than my YM and alot lighter than the Panerai Tyler. List on this one is between $4500 and $5500, depending on the strap or bracelet version, although this brand is not as in demand like a Rolex so good discounts can be had, I have heard up near 35%. I have not done that, but I have read numerous times about others doing it.

I replied to Bruce in another post that the lume is one of the things that people knocked on this watch, but it is more than enough for me. It stays pretty strong all night to, about the same as the Rolex. Neither is close to the 88 though.

Thanks Daren. I'm sure you are wondering why I asked about a "post Sub watch" before I even have a Sub. I like to live my life to the fullest. Even if it requires to think years in advance.

Never gave it a second thought pal. I promise you this, if you don't have dreams and goals to chase, you are not going to get anywhere.

You stay and you will have whatever you desire through hard work pal, I really believe in you and can tell what type of person you are and will become.

Yea I can too because if it relies on speaking Spanish I'll be a hobo on the street. Spanish=awesome teacher, crappy subject.
