The start of the Basel 2013 Rumor-Mill... Ceramic Explorer II?

Not sure if that is even on the books for them at some point, but it would seem inevitable given that the ceramic basel has made it on to the Daytona. What's up for this year?

Wait...does the GMTIIC have a luggy case or is it more like the Explorer II 42?

ha, it is pretty luggy. BUT, compared to the subC it appears quite small. might be the caseback. it appears less blocky......

if it came out in a pepsi, that would be crazy cool.

I had a 16610 and I sold it. But recently I tried on a 16710 Pepsi and I thought was too small on my wrist. I did not not buy for that reason. Is that what you mean?
Any thoughts of the friends of the forum?

If a GMT2C-PEPSI comes out, it will annihilate all SUBs and DSSD and GMT 2C-BLK sales put together. There would be massive FOR SALE signs in the TRF Sales Section as members try to liquidate their BLK GMT2Cs and other watches to get their hands on the GMT-2C-PEPSI...

i agree with this x1,000,000

i'd want to keep my black, because it is my conservative piece that i do not think i will ever flip. i really don't think i could justify selling it.

that said, i never buy a watch without having funds for the next one ready.

i would buy the pepsi in a friggin heart beat.

the moment they announced it....i would be sending emails, texting and calling DavidSW to put me on his list.

If they do it again with smaller bezel numbers as in the previous model might like. The bezel of 116710 with those big numbers is just awful. And beat the Sub.? Impossible .. IMHO.

Because they can't make a bi-color ceramic bezel... that was easy. That's not to say I agree with his statement - the Pepsi is a niche watch (which is why I like it).

Yeh I love it, and I think most watch guys do, but didn't they stop making it a good 4-6 years before the ceramic bezels were introduced?

I don't believe so. The GMT2C was introduced in 2007. They were definitely still making Pepsi watches in 2001-2003. I seem to recall them being available as long as the metal insert watches were available.

I think a ceramic-cased, radio-controlled, 52mm, quartz, digital chronograph with perpetual calendar, countdown timer, second time-zone, multiple alarms, and Indiglo on a ceramic bracelet is definitely on the horizon.

Or not.

The ExpII has never had a non-metal bezel. I HIGHLY doubt they will ever put on a ceramic.

Agreed 100%. Doing so would diminish it's domination of indestructibility compared to the ceramic wearing Rolex sports models.

Forget ceramic. Has anyone thought of Rolex providing a pepsi or better yet a coke bezel made to LOOK like a ceramic model...Same style just different material....Then eveyone's photo shop fantasies would come true.

It bugs me Pepsi or not. I hope they don't "upgrade" the Daytona with green text to celebrate it's 50th.

Man on the moon.... I don't think a 2 color ceramic bezel would pose much of a problem, if they were determined to make one .....we can do anything we want!
