What do you like most about your Rolex?

I like to hear from TRF members regarding likes, dislikes, and motivation. In other words, why did you buy your Rolex and what do you like best about it...the feel, the look/style, the status it conveys, etc?

I have a few different models and like some more than others. I am not sure why, but I just seem to be drawn to certain ones. How about you?

Comfort.

I've used Panerai and Omegas and Tags before... I got rid of them all for the Rolex.

My go-to-Rolexes I like mainly because I don't see them often in the wild. Also because they work. Period. They may not be the nicest or sexiest in my collection but I don't have to think about them. Wind, set, and go.

I like the Rolex brand in general because most of their models are timeless so to speak...

Take the GMT or Sub series... relatively unchanged in style for 50 some odd years...

To the untrained eye, my 16710 is no different from a 1675 from the 60's...

I feel like my GMT and Sub will never be out of style, unlike say cars of the 80's, while there are some "classic" models... most would say a car of that era is outdated and well.. not stylish

I agree. It's like knowing a secret language. I was talking with someone awhile ago and they referred to a watch as "root beer". I knew I was dealing with a WIS. We ended up having short, but nice conversation about watches. Turns out he's on TRF too.

I purchased it new 14 years ago and I still find myself staring at it. It has been on my wrist for the birth of both of my children. It has become a heirloom and a work of art that has accurately told time at +4 sevonds a day since new for 14 years.

Timeless design. I can now own a "new" watch I first wanted 44 years ago.

I just like it, that's all!

I like its look, its bracelet, the fact that it has gold on it, the fact that it's a bit old...I just like it.

They are cool watches that deserves to be abused. I wouldnt dare abuse my Panerai and Jlc. But for some reason, Rolex begs to be abused... so I can wear them everyday and not think about them.

It's pretty much the only object that you can buy...use everyday...and doesn't depreciate. It actually holds it's value and in many cases appreciates in value.

It's portable...the classic form and style.

Not only that but it is functional and you get to enjoy it daily.

I think it's a tie - the color of gold and the weight of gold.

second thing is the movement

third thing is the diamond dial

fourth thing is the hidden clasp
