##All new 8 day movement## FULL HOUSE
On the 3rd of January i wrote this on another thread:
""Ok guys (from a person that claimed to have seen actual samples) ... 1. A bronzo exactly like 382 plus a power reserve on the face !! 2. A black ceramic submersable 3. A lot of chronographs 4. A new 8 day power reserve movement that will be cheaper and fit to regular run 44mm pams such as 111 . Thats what I remember hope I didnt forget anything ... "" Fast forward to the unveil of the 2013 panerai novelties i was glad that my source was accurate,, but only 75 % accurate 1 & 2 & 3 but not no.4 well i don't know why panerai do not expose all their cards on the first day of SIHH but apparently there is a totally new 8day movement (P5000) that is fixed in a new model that was not revealed yesterday !! the Pam 510 a 44mm luminor marina with an all new 8 day manual wind movement So to my Source i say thank you we have a full house !! |

bettarini case lives!!
apparently, 510 & 511 showing up later in the year or even 2014. now, if the final version drops "8 Days" from the front and adds a PR (preferably on the back), we'll have a real winner. |

510 is very nice, although I would prefer to delete the '8 days' text

Oh very nice, but I am not really liking the polished case. I am curious to know the tech specs and MSRP.

I must be the only person that likes "8 Days" on the dial.
Wonder if the wife would notice if I trade the 111 for a 510?

I won't be selling the 111G however. It is pretty special to me and believe it or not, I love the 6497 movements. I mean look at a Rolex 618 and an ETA 6497. This movement isn't high haute horology, but it is great! Hard to beat a 6497 in terms of reliability.

Thanks for the heads up - I'm very curious about the P.5000 and what variations it will bring forth from the new line c/o Paneristi Nad Quote:

Looks like faux patina lume again like the 512. Maybe that look is here to stay.

Also, I prefer the shape of the '3' on these dials - nicer imho than the '3' used on the 000, 112, etc...

Very cool Aziz! This is definitely a good one. Although still holding out for my wish of a 312 with a hand wound 8 day movement
One day I hope... |

Yeah, I've had my eye on the 233 for a while now, and trying to convince myself that I don't need it
I have the 312, and love the simplicity of the dial compared to the 233. If I had a 312 that wore like a 233, I would have perfection without compromise |

I doubt there's any chance they'd remove "8 Days". You need it to distinguish it from the 111. I personally would have loved "8 Giorni" on this as well as the 368.

This is a very interesting development, but I don't understand why they didn't put a power reserve on the back (similar to the 190). Don't get me wrong, I think it's awesome to not have to wind your watch every day or two, but without a PR you're probably gonna wind it more than you need to unless you are actively keeping track of your last winding. This design oddity falls in the same bucket to me as the 10 day power reserve on an automatic. It's cool and all, but I don't quite get it.

The PR indicator would add more components and cost to the movement I'm assuming. I'll bet they'll add it in the future, but they'll want at least 10% more.

You guys said it - that and a "9" too... We could have had a Bettarini 203... Of course, fitting all that on a 44mm is another story...

I do like my PR because it lets me know when I forgot to wind it, but as a general rule, I wind mine every Sunday

My question is: will those of you with an 8/10 day Panerai, especially in a 1950 case, pick this up? I'm inclined to say yes despite the overlap with my 233.

I am inclined to as well, but will have to see it in person to be sure.
