I have been reading up on the forum on various ways to clean watches etc. I got a waterpik ultra water flosser for christmas and figured what the hell

. I cleaned my rolex 16613 with it and was amazed how much dirt and grime came off. This watch was not cleaned for a while but didn't look that bad before I waterpiked it. I put it on a high setting and and blasted the nooks and crannies of my watch with hot water and WOW. Be careful and go outdoors it can get messy

I've tried the water pic...but...a hand held steam cleaner works 1000% better with less mess. You can get them for $20 at Walmart or Target. Blasts away all the gunk.

Very similar to what I have. Shoots a jet of hot steam. Excellent for cleaning bathrooms and kitchens too!

I got Waterpik this Christmas, it has a very good massage function, I use it often. the water flosser is a great tool to keep our teeth healthy and clean and in good shape. I listened to my dentist and said it can help remove plaque. Time will tell.

one up on Black Friday or Boxing day as they tend to be cheaper around that time (on Amazon).

I got the system that has an ultrasonic toothbrush and flosser built into one base. I didn't love either of them so I was planning to toss it. As I'm walking to the trash can I think of using it as a watch cleaner. So its in my basement ready for use. The toothbrush also does a nice job on the clasp with a little soap.

Would it be bad for me to secretly use for watch cleaning?

twice a year I pop my bracelet off and drop it into an ultrasonic jewelry cleaner and then I take the same fluid to the watchhead with a small brush. Works great!

I have only put it in my mouth not on my watch.

We have a hand held steamer, that actually seems like a great idea. I'll make sure not to hold it with my bare hands
