Daytona
I wanted know why these things are so hard to find? I just bought a GMTc and now I am hearing voices about a Black SS daytona. Are they limited editions?

So if you can get a Daytona from an AD it should only cost $8,000? But, it would obviously have a waiting list?

I guess the various AD's have their own system - or lack of the same - to supply the incoming SS Daytonas to customers.

my dealer has freely admitted that he hold the daytona and LV's and offers them to his long-time, big spending, "special" customers.

My AD gets a big kick out of me putting out info that I have learned on here. When I picked up the Daytona the other day I mentioned the blue hairspring and the fact that I was glad it was an "M" serial #. He laughed and said "i'm going to start calling you for advice"! I honestly think being a WIS helped get the watch. I think they want to sell to someone who will really appreciate it as opposed to someone just buying it because it's the "in" watch or to flip it for a profit.

i posted a note yesterday that my a.d. has a black face "m" available. the watch was for me but i've decided to go with a 116509 instead. if you're interested, i can check to see if he still has it, although i suspect it's gone. there was an overwhelming response yesterday.

I put my name on the waiting list in March. Got the call in August and called back too late.........it was gone!!! Then I got the call a month ago and got my SS Daytona black. I am indeed fortunate. Try a Jared branch if there is one in your area.

In my honest opinion, I think many of the SS Daytonas aren't going to people like us, who just fancy the watch - they are going straight to grey dealers at a mark-up, to be sold at a huge premium... I think it's a shame and a scam that AD's do that - and many, many of them do (as AD's themselves have admitted to me in person)...
