Photo is taken at an angle such that one cannot assess how polished the case is. The crown guards, the date disk or the cyclops all remain hidden. All of them must-sees to assess how kosher the watch is.

Picture does not have enough resolution on the dial, but lume does not look dark enough for how deteriorated the lume plots are. I am aware that darkness and deterioration should not necessarily go hand in hand, but lume looks too light to me. Apart from that, the dial looks alright.

Does it look downright bad /fake? No. Would I buy based on this pic? No.

Post a link to the auction. I also don't entirely like the dial. Seems too clean but I need more

Buy the Seller as they say around here and in this case I wouldn't buy from someone who is banned over at VRF for selling fake merchandize.

Thanks for the heads up. That is the seller. It seemed odd there were no pictures of the date window and I noticed in one of the pictures some damage to the dial in that area. When I asked about it he did confirm there was damage there. Not sure if he was intentionally hiding this but it seems like it from the lack of pictures.

That picture was not shot at that angle by chance, hence my initial comment. It's somebody with knowledge of watches and wanting to hide something that shoots at such an angle. The possible reasons: damaged dial, as you state, over polished case, replacement date disk, or altogether fake. Was it intentional? Of course it was.

I might have seen this watch in HK recently, if it has dial damage in the date window area as you say.

Now that I think of it, shouldn't we have a Dealer blacklist somewhere in the Forum too? I know it's risky, but I think we should. At least we should have threads with Dealer names where customers chime in and talk about their transactions....

from an academic point of view, i think the case and back and insert are all good. i just dont know what to make of that dial. seems too good to be true. too expensive anyway.

Dial may be genuine, just damaged as mentioned earlier but not shown in the photos. $3200 head only should be a bit nicer methinks

As far as Snowflake options go , I believe you can get Black OR Blue . If you have to have Red then you have to go Black Bay !
Lol 😁😜

I am always wary when ads for vintage watches boldly state "dial never refinished or retouched or repainted in any way whatsoever" yet they offer no story to back up that certainty. Especially when the patina of the hands and dial perfectly match.
